Womens' Ministry

Our meditation is taken from the book of "ESTHER" chapter 2:10,20.
"Esther had not revealed her people or family, for Mordecai had charged her not to reveal it".

Esther had not only outward beauty according to what Scripture says but also inner beauty which is revealed in the above verse.  She was obedient to her Uncle Mordecai in every way.  Even though she belonged to the Jewish  tribe, Benjamin, when she was charged by her uncle to conceal her family origin for a particular period, she willingly obeyed.  She knew that they were captives living in a foreign land, she did not make her circumstance affect her in fulfilling God-given purpose.  The word of God says in 1Tim 2:9,10 "in like manner also, that the women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with propriety and moderation, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or costly clothing, but, which is proper for women professing godliness, with good works."

If she had revealed everything before time, she would not have risen to the level of Queen of the Persian King, Ahasuerus, and she could not have saved her family and her nation.  This speaks of the training she received as a child under her uncle who taught her about her family values and integrity to her nation, which was under siege.  She also humbled herself under the guiding hands of God and sought God's face in the time of trouble.  She was well trained to call on the name of the Almighty God she worshiped.

Pro 22:6 says, "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it."

This verse teaches obedience to God's word in the midst of adversity, waiting on God's timing and direction, integrity to the one and only true God, to be purpose driven, to be useful for God's Kingdom when needed.

Especially for women whose life is very challenging these days, God wants to make use of us in diverse ways.  Our life may not be one like Esther but wherever we are placed, if we learn to heed to the voice of God and other Godly counsel, definitely God will make use of us in a mighty way.  (Read also other chapters in the Book of Esther and ask the Holy Spirit to Guide you in the way of Godliness.)

Jesus also came as a Redeemer to save the whole world which was under siege by the enemy.  In a way we can see a correlation between this story and the story of redemption from the Bible in gospels.  Like Esther let us rise to the occasion of saving those who are destined to be destroyed.

PRAYER: Father God, make us women of excellence not just in outward appearance but in the inner beauty as well.  Holy Spirit, give us wisdom to obey your word, heed to your voice and be of women who will bring Glory and Honor to your name in Jesus name we pray. Amen!
